At Restaurant at Birmingham College of Food, we are about outstanding, inventive dishes and sensational desserts lovingly-created by our student pâtissiers. We are about creative flair and amazing flavours, textures, aromas and colours, from the bold and beautiful to the soft and subtle, and treating ingredients with respect.

Complementing our classical and gastro dishes, our drinks menu features great ales and beers, classic cocktails, contemporary thirst-quenchers and carefully-considered wines encompassing biodiversity from across the globe, including vegan options. Our trainee sommeliers will even organise a wine flight for you.

Our menus are influenced by the region and the world, our express lunch menu designed for professionals on a tight schedule. They include meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options, with consideration for special dietary requirements.

Monday – Wednesday

Did someone say crispy quail’s egg? Just one amazing delicacy on our first half of the week two and three course menu, with vegetarian mains including our delicious butternut squash ravioli. Our desserts are to die for too, featuring our signature dark chocolate baked Alaska.

Thursday – Friday

At the end of the week, we ramp things up, giving you the chance to try our ‘low and slow’ pork belly and duck and lamb dishes on this two and three course menu. For afters, you can’t beat our mouthwatering toffee glazed apple or our homemade salted caramel mousse.

Drinks

Our drinks menu includes everything from classic cocktails and contemporary thirst-quenchers through to an innovative wine list that embodies biodiversity.

From delicious artisan breads to mouth-watering cakes, you can even take a slice of Restaurant at Birmingham College of Food home with you. Every day, we have a selection of lovely goods made by our students and sold in our Cakes & Bakes shop available to buy at an unbelievably low price in the restaurant.

Our Provenance

Every dish is the sum of its ingredients and our menus are hand-crafted and freshly-prepared with the highest quality, seasonal produce from the best suppliers.


Our meat is from award-winning Aubrey Allen and nothing is pre-portioned, our students preparing all cuts in our on-site butchery.

We have our own smokery too, bringing exquisite depth to everything from salmon to duck dishes, and students learn their art with a helping hand from the experts at Severn and Wye Valley Smokery in Gloucestershire.

We source much of our fruit, veg and produce from the Birmingham Wholesale Markets, an emporium of ingredients grown in the region, as well as exotic ingredients from across the world.

Our drinks menu incorporates ales from the likes of Purity Brewery based in nearby Alcester and Wye Valley Brewery. And of course, our menu celebrates the best of ‘Brum’, including Stout Brummie from the Birmingham Brewing Company.

We place great importance on sustainability and work closely with city organisations to cut food waste.
